Lady Son Y Articulo Veinte

Lady Son Y Articulo Veinte

AFRO LATIN EVOLUTION!

Canadian born and raised, Yeti Ajasin, Lady Son, is the lead vocalist/director of Latin fusion band Artículo Veinte. Music has always played a huge role in her life, and Rhythm and Dance have always been at Yeti's heart.

Of mixed Italian/Nigerian/Jewish background, Yeti has had a diverse upbringing contributing to her Musical Taste.

Although Yeti has played in several musical ensembles while both gigging and traveling, Artículo Veinte is Yeti's attempt at formulating her very own Latin Fusion band. A20 (Artículo Veinte) has been making waves in Toronto for a period of four years, their sound and image is comparable to none.

It is said that Yeti’s voice and energy on stage are reminiscent of the late Celia Cruz. LADY SON brings a fresh female essence to an otherwise male Salsa/Son society. Her powerful rhythmic voice, energy, enthusiasm, passion and understanding of Latin music and culture are electrifying when Yeti is both on and off stage. Lady Son writes all original material and every song has an important message about life, love, and the social issues that affect us all. Lady Son honors the great salseros and soneros of the 20th century by remembering them and continuing to add to this diverse and pulsating genre of Latin music. LADY SON contributes greatly to making this style of music extremely contagious!

About the Band

Lady Son Y Articulo Veinte Stage

Articulo Veinte (A20) is a truly Canadian project. The idea was born here, with all Canadian musicians of different cultural backgrounds, and maintains an authentic sound true to the nature of Cuban Son and NuYorican Salsa. From Russia, to Japan, Israel, Nigeria, Mexico, El Salvador, Cuba, Peru and Toronto - A20 represents the melting pot of this wonderful city and the fact that we as Canadians can also live within the wonderful sounds of music from other cultures. The band is solid in sound, and has a wonderful working relationship which is evident when seeing them on stage. A20 is warm and approachable as is their music.
