Rinse the Algorithm

Rinse the Algorithm

www.myspace.com/rinsethealgorithm

Toronto electric bassist and composer Rich Brown formed Rinse the Algorithm in 2004. Rinse the Algorithm’s main musical objective is to combine older and newer jazz traditions with elements of modern forms of dance music. The music, while rooted in the jazz tradition, is heavily influenced by the jazz-rock and jazz-funk artists of the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s such as Weather Report, Miles Davis and Steve Coleman. The result of this amalgamation of musical ideas is a fresh new sound that combines sophisticated harmonic and melodic concepts with a heavily groove-oriented, rhythmic base. The band features Brown, pianist and keyboardist Robi Botos, Luis Deniz on alto saxophone, and Aubrey Dayle on drums.
