Jimmy Hall

Jimmy Hall with the Tommy Talton Band

"For my money, Jimmy is the best white R&B singer alive."

Jimmy Hall launched his career in the early 70’s as the leader of Wet Willie. Like other bands of the genre – including the Charlie Daniels Band, The Marshall Tucker Band, Cowboy, and Lynyrd Skynyrd – Wet Willie rode the wave of Southern Rock popularity created by the mainstream acceptance of The Allman Brothers Band. Along the way Hall quickly distinguished himself as a force to be reckoned with: a soulful singer, a first rate harp and sax player, and an outstanding showman.

When the members of Wet Willie went their separate ways, Jimmy moved from Macon Georgia to Nashville where he resides today. His evident talents have kept Hall in demand as both a session player and sideman, (primarily with Hank Williams Jr.), but he still finds time to keep his solo career central in his endeavours. His latest release is Build Your Own Fire, the critically acclaimed tribute to Southern singer songwriter Eddie Hinton.

Backing Hall, and upping the ante, is the Tommy Talton Band. Talton, along with Scott Boyer, was the co-leader of Cowboy. It’s Jimmy Hall’s show, but Talton is sure to throw in a few surprises.
