Hal Linton

Hailing from the Caribbean island of Barbados, Hal Linton was born into a family of classically trained musicians where growing up he was exposed to a wide array of music. From opera to the wailing sounds of Bob Marley, Al Green and James Brown; Music permeated his life at a very early age.
Initially a film and broadcast academic scholar, he deferred that path to pursue a musical career and in short order had electrified the local music scene with a potent blend of great songs, exciting vocals and a dynamic stage presence. In 2007 he won four awards at the Barbados Music Awards including "Song of the Year" for his single "Cardiac Arrest".
Shortly after, he moved to New York to further develop his sound and in May 2008 he signed a production deal with Evan Rogers and Carl Sturken of Syndicated Rhythm Productions. After several months of writing and recording new material he was signed by Sylvia Rhone, to Universal Motown Records in October 2008.
He is fresh off of the Estelle & Solange US Tour and is currently in the studio crafting songs for his upcoming 2009 debut album "Return from the Future" which includes "Lock My Heart Down" and "Bang Bang".
